As part of his strategic plans to kick off the New Year, Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has revealed plans to engage citizens of the state in a town hall discussion and citizen engagement.

The Governor who stated this during the last day of the Executive Council Ministerial Briefing and End of year Review held at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, said the engagement which will be held across Federal constituencies of the state, two Federal Constituency per month is aimed to help the government understand the challenges of resident in those federal constituencies through brainstorming sessions and engagement.

According to Memories Media correspondent, Mfoniso Harrison, Governor Eno urged Akwa Ibom Citizens to take advantage of the opportunity,  as their participation will be advantageous to the drawing and planning of the 2026 budget while admonishing each of the Federal Constituency to put heads together, meet and strategise as a common people in unity, so as not to defeat the purpose of the meeting.

Looking forward to the new year, Governor Umo Eno pledged an accelerated pace of work, as he pledged to continuously and actively bring growth and development projects to the state and encouraged citizens to always draw government attention to projects deserving of government attentio.

The governor reiterated his vision to run a people-first government, giving room for citizens to participate in governance.

The State Chief Executive expressed his appreciation to his cabinet members and several key stakeholders including the labour unions traditional rulers, civil society organizations, organized Labour, the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council, the Students, youths, women, non-indigene Communities, and residents of the State for their participation in the three days Ministerial Briefing and for supporting his Arise Agends initiative, adding that his administration is set for another journey in 2025.

Governor Eno pledged his administration’s commitment to engendering transparency and bringing governance closer to people in line with his campaign promise as the state prepares to welcome the New Year.
